VCU Medical Science Internship Program

Program Information

The Medical Science Internship Program (MSIP) is a 5-week summer program that is designed to expose high school students to the healthcare field as well as the research component of medicine. Interns are challenged through clinical shadowing opportunities, lectures from medical professionals, and researching with a laboratory mentor.

MSIP encourages applications from women, low-income families, underrepresented minorities (URMs), disadvantaged students, and students who live outside the local Richmond area.  Preference is given to students who would contribute to the recruitment of a diverse background of talented students.
